“I am unable to share many details due to privacy concerns, but our experience was very negative. I urge anyone seeking services to do a lot of research on your own, of any potential side effects to medications or interactions that could unmask other conditions that you may not realize your child is experiencing. There should be a system in place for a much more thorough review of symptoms before choosing a medication. I also learned from a family medical doctor that it is beneficial to have genetic testing completed before using any psychotropic medication. This is not something that was ever mentioned to us. Reporting of severe adverse side effects was met with over the phone suggestions for additional medications, without any offer for an immediate in person assessment or any mention that perhaps we should consult with a specialist, or have genetic testing completed. We lost all confidence and instead requested a referral to pediatric neurology through our pediatrician. Our experience has been life changing, and not in a good way.”
